they do happen, despite what it says on the box.

crashes using automatically generated buffers

Postby inx » Sat Aug 16, 2008 4:50 pm

i figured out a strange behaviour.

i made a batch to create buffers for every soundfile in a folder. when i want to access them using the "set"-message to elastic, it plays only the first buffer, not the second i set to use... (unless i turn the dsp off and on again...) after switching between the buffers (playing only the first, but using the lenght of the new one) max crashes...

when i do it manually, e.g. filling 2 buffers manually with the "replace"-message, it works, and i can use both buffers, switching between them...

tested on:
macbook (OS 10.4) & macbook pro (OS 10.5)
max 5.0.4

see the example-patch.
any ideas whats wrong?
thx

to use the pasted patch, you have to save and reopen it... otherwise the loadbangs are not executed... (used to set the types of [folder])

Thanks for the bug report, and very clear patch. I can reproduce on Win XP, it doesn't actually crash but won't play the auto buffers (after the first). That's very strange behaviour!

I'll look in to it and let you know as soon as I've cracked it.

Cheers,
Simon

Matteo Manassero Shines on Masters Debut

Postby Golfclubs0 » Thu Jun 03, 2010 12:22 pm

Italian teenager Matteo Manassero etched his name into Masters history in some style on the final day at Augusta.

The 16-year-old amateur, the youngest to ever compete at the Masters, birdied the 18th to finish four over, earning a fine reception and the Silver Medal.

"It will definitely help me to be comfortable with this crowd and understand I can compete with these guys," said Manassero. (callaway Irons)

The youngster will turn professional at next month's Italian Open.

His score put him ahead of the likes of former Masters winners Zach Johnson and Mike Weir as well as Retief Goosen and Sergio Garcia, a player who made his own memorable debut at the Masters back in 1999.

Manassero, the only amateur to make the cut at Augusta, also shone at the Open last year, winning the Silver Medal at Turnberry in recognition of his achievement as the highest finishing amateur.

"Today I think I played really good," said Manassero, the first amateur since 2005 to play in the final two rounds at Augusta.

"I can't play much better than this. I maybe left on the course some birdie chances. I made two bogeys, but I finished with a good birdie - that's a good memory."

Manassero earned his place at Augusta by becoming the youngest-ever winner of the British Amateur Open last year.( Ping G15 Fariway Wood)

The fervent AC Milan fan will try to secure his place on the European Tour through seven invitations he has been offered, with the secondary Challenge Tour and the qualifying school as a possible fallback.

In budget crisis, states take aim at pensions

Postby huchun0123456 » Mon Jun 21, 2010 3:38 am

In budget crisis, states take aim at pensionsMany states are acknowledging this year that they have promised pensions they cannot afford and are cutting once-sacrosanct benefits, to appease taxpayers and attack budget deficits. http://www.fcsgame.com/Illinois raised its retirement age to 67, the highest of any state, and capped public pensions at $106,800 a year. Arizona, New York, Missouri and Mississippi will make people work more years to earn pensions. Virginia is requiring employees to pay into the state pension fund for the first time. New Jersey will not give anyone pension credit unless they work at least 32 hours a week. “We can’t afford to deny reality or delay action any longer,” said Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois, adding that his state’s pension cuts, enacted in March, buy kamas will save some $300 million in the first year alone. But there is a catch: Nearly all of the cuts so far apply only to workers not yet hired. Though heralded as breakthrough reforms by state officials, the cuts phase in so slowly they are unlikely to save the weakest funds and keep them from running out of money. Some new rules may even hasten the demise of the funds they were meant to protect. Running out of money dofus kamas
Despite its pension reform, Illinois is still in deep trouble. That vaunted $300 million in immediate savings? The state produced it by giving itself credit now for the much smaller checks it will send retirees many years in the future — people who must first be hired and then, for full benefits, work until age 67. By recognizing those far-off savings right away, Illinois is letting itself put less money into its pension fund now, starting with $300 million this year. “We’re within a few years of having some of the pension funds run out of money,” said R. Eden Martin, president of the Commercial Club of Chicago.Joshua D. Rauh, an associate professor of finance at Northwestern University who studies public pension funds, predicts that at the current rate, Illinois’s pension system could run out of money by 2018.metin2 yang He believes the funds of other troubled states — including New Jersey, Indiana and Connecticut — are also on track to run out of money in less than a decade, unless they make meaningful changes. Many state officials, hoping for a huge recovery in the markets, say that such projections are too pessimistic, and that cutting benefits for future workers must suffice, given laws and provisions in state constitutions that make membership in a state pension fund a contractual relationship that cannot be breached. Maple Story mesosSome of those cuts set off titanic battles. The most famous was at I.B.M., which changed its pension plan just when many of its older workers were about to earn sharply higher retirement benefits. Aggrieved workers sued, but after a long battle, a federal appellate court found that the cuts were legal. “An employer is free to move from one legal plan to another legal plan, provided that it does not diminish vested interests,” or the benefits workers have already earned, wrote Chief Judge Frank H. Easterbrook of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago. He did not distinguish between corporate employers and states. cheapest dofus kamas

Mount Guide in DofusWelcome! In Dofus Kamas, a mount can help you to carry more items as they have their own inventory and bring bonuses to players when in fight. However, the player has to choose between equipping his pet or his mount during a fight.http://www.okaygoods.com/You can capture the mounts which thanks to a capturing net and the spell 'Mount Taming'. You can learn this spell in the dungeon located in the Koalak area. Once you've equipped the capturing net instead of your weapon, you must launch the fight against wild mounts and finish off the last wild mount while the Mount Taming spell is still active. You'll lose your capturing net but you'll get a wild mount after you succeed to capture the mount.Metin2 yangcheapest dofus kamasA wild mount can not be ridden but can mate to then give birth to new mounts that can be ridden. Though, it is important to note that you can ride a mount only when it's mature enough. A mount will mature as its aggressiveness will balance its serenity. A mount can mate when it?s fertile. A mount is considered fertile when it?s mature and its love gauge is high enough. The mating can fail if the two mounts do not have enough stamina. Mounts must be bred in public paddocks, or in private paddocks. A tamed mount must have reached level 30 to be fertile.Buy dofus kamasThank you for reading. How to choose a Putter (Part One)

Postby Golfclubs0 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 6:23 am

How to choose a Putter? (Part One)

Buying a putter often intimidates recreational golfers. A wide variety of types and styles exist, making the choice of a putter complicated. Faced with this complexity, many golfers get confused and make the wrong choice. The goal is to buy not the most expensive club on the market or the most popular in your clubhouse, but the putter offering the best value, discount golf clubs is a good choice.

Several features to consider when buying a putter are price, quality, style, and club head. Additional features to consider are insert, loft, alignment system, and hosel. Below is a brief discussion of each of these features.

(1) Price/Quality: The price of putters ranges anywhere from $30 to $300 or more. The higher the putter's price, the better the quality is a general assumption, but Price is not necessarily a good indicator of quality. You don't have to pay a lot to find a good putter. In fact, a less expensive putter may be better for you than a more expensive one. It's a matter of feel. If the putter feels right to you, it will build self-confidence, and self-confidence will help you sink more putts. So consider putters from all price ranges and quality spectrums (Ping Golf Clubs).

(2) Putter type - conventional, belly, or long: The type of putter you choose depends on which type works best for you and which fits your physical make-up.

Most people prefer a conventional putter, which is a little easier to use and master than belly or long putters. Conventional putters allow for the perfect blend of feel and mechanical precision. The downside of conventional putters is that they require an absolute minimum of wrist action. Unfortunately, some golfers find it hard to keep their wrists "quiet" when putting. Hence, the growing use of the belly and the long putters. Titleist Golf Clubs are also a challenge for people with back problems.

Golfers with active wrists or back problems often prefer a belly putter or a long putter. A belly putter provides a third point of contact - the abdomen (along with each hand) - between the putter and the player. The added contact provides stability and balance to the putting stroke. The belly putter enables a golfer to better control his/her wrist action and assume a near perfect putting posture. Since belly putters are longer and generally have a thicker grip than conventional putters, they inhibit feel and feedback. Distance control is also a problem thanks to the longer shaft.

A long putter turns the putting stroke into a true pendulum arc. And since golfers take an almost upright stance, it is ideal for golfers with bad backs. But the length of the putter's shaft reduces feel and feedback even more than does a belly putter. It also hampers distance control. Some pros refer to the long putter as the "last hope for a bad putter" because it completely eliminates wrist action.
